Quinte West is preparing to honour the 100 year anniversary of the RCAF.
During the Quinte West Council meeting on Wednesday, council members discussed a request from 413 Wing RCAF Association to hang blue banners and host a ceremony in April of 2024 as part of their 100 Banners for 100 Years project.
The banners would be provided to the municipality to be hung from light posts. Celebrations would also include a flag-raising ceremony at city hall and flying the RCAF ensign from April 1 until the end of 2024 from the flag post at Mt. Pelion.
Council supported the requests in principle and voted to direct staff to work with the event organizers to accommodate their request.
