A new medical clinic and pharmacy is open in Trenton.
Remedy’sRX is open in the Trenton Town Centre on 260 Dundas St. E.
Members of city council, as well as staff with the pharmacy/clinic, took part in a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Wednesday marking the opening of the clinic.
The owner of the pharmacy/clinic described the process to opening up.
“I was either way creating the pharmacy and then all of the sudden I met Dr. (Stephen) Evans and Dr. Evans was interested in opening a clinic,” owner and pharmacist Dipak Dhanani tells Quinte News.
“So we got together and created the one-stop for patients with a pharmacy/clinic setup.”
Dr. Evans says the pitch from Dhanani, as well as being recruited by the City of Quinte West, helped to solidify his decision on returning to Trenton and opening a clinic.
“I was here for nine years. I was here from 1992 until 2001,” Dr. Evans tells Quinte News.
“For the last several years, The City of Quinte West was contacting me hoping I would come back. I reviewed the situation and this was the right thing to do and I am so happy here.”
The clinic is already seeing numerous patients walk through the door.
“On average, we have three physicians seeing patients so we average about 120 a day in catch up,” Dr. Stephen Evans tells Quinte News.
Dr. Evans says they expect to get through their backlog of patients within the next six months.
