Planning is already under way for some major events in Quinte West this year.
Quinte West Council heard reports and details about the upcoming Quinte Ribfest in June, Front Street Dances in July and the Hops on the Water Craft Beer Festival in October.
In order to host the events it was determined that the municipality would need permits from the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario so that these events could sell and serve alcohol.
Council passed the motion unanimously to designate these upcoming events as events of municipal significance and seek special occasion permits.
