Belleville police officers had to do a little running on a Highway 401 overpass Wednesday
afternoon.
Police were called by employees of a north end retail store about someone trying to steal copper wire around 4 o’clock.
When police arrived, a suspect carrying the wire took off for the 401 overpass but officers quickly caught him.
A 39-year-old man from Toronto was charged with theft over $5,000 and breaching probation.
