Three people have been arrested and a large quantity of stolen property was seized after a series of break-ins.
Central Hastings OPP executed a search warrant at a home on Woods Drive in the Township of Stirling-Rawdon on Tuesday.
Police say they were able to recover several items that were stolen during several break and enters at construction sites, enclosed trailers and storage units in the area.
The estimated value of the items stolen is $70,000.
Three people have been arrested.
Thirty-three-year-old Chantale Barnsley and 32-year-old David Mantifel of Stirling-Rawdon and 31-year-old Tyler Taft of Belleville have each been charged with the following under the Criminal Code:
- Break and Enter – three counts
- Mischief under $5000 – seven counts
- Theft over $5000 – three counts
- Theft under $5000 – four counts
- Possession of Proceeds of Property obtained by Crime over $5000 – two counts
- Possession of Proceeds of Property obtained by Crime under $5000 –
All were additionally charged with the following under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
- Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance – Cocaine
- Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance – Methamphetamine
Taft was additionally charged with failing to comply with probation order.
Barnsley was released from custody and is scheduled to appear on January 16, 2023 at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville. The other accused were remanded in custody for a bail hearing on December 21, 2022 at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville.
