The mayor of Belleville visited Cobourg last week for a very special occasion.
At a meeting of Northumberland County Council Neil Ellis and his wife Sue, along with other family members, looked on as their daughter Maddison Mather was sworn in as Clerk of Northumberland County.
Mather will also be manager of legislative services.
The ceremony was presided over by the new warden of Northumberland County Mandy Martin of Cramahe Township.
