A surprisingly heavy snowfall overnight has caused traffic chaos in the Quinte region.
Both east and westbound lanes of Highway 401 from Brighton to Napanee were moving at a crawl
The 401 was at a standstill since around 2 a.m. Friday as there were multiple collisions and vehicles sliding off into the median. The highway has since re-opened in both directions.
Wyman Road in Tyendinaga was said to filled with tractor trailers unable to make it up a hill.
There have been no reports of serious injury.
