About 60 bicyclists will be riding through the Quinte region today (Thursday) in honour of Canadian firefighters who’ve lost their lives the line of duty.
The riders are raising funds for the Canadian Fallen Firefighters Foundation on a ride from Hamilton to Ottawa where a ceremony will be held at the National Firefighters Memorial this Sunday. The fundraising goal is $100,000.
The riders will stop for a break at Brighton Fire Station 1 at 10:30 and will be at Belleville Fire headquarters on Bettes Street for around an hour at noon.
The riders will take a short break at the Napanee fire hall at 2:30 today.
