The body of a missing boater has been recovered from a lake south of Bancroft.
The OPP Underwater Search and Recovery Unit recovered the body from Peter Lake in Wollaston Township early Sunday afternoon.
Late Saturday afternoon OPP and Wollaston Fire Department responded to a report that a canoe had capsized.
A witness attempted a rescue before emergency crews arrived but was unable to find the canoeist.
Police and fire arrived on scene but were also unsuccessful.
The USRU recovered the body around 12:30 p.m. on Sunday.
The deceased has been identified as Sovann Chhay, age 39 from Ottawa.
The investigation is ongoing and a post mortem examination is being conducted.
