Belleville Police arrested one person and seized an imitation firearm following a disturbance on Front Street Saturday afternoon.
Police responded to the area around 5 p.m. where a male had allegedly pointed a pistol at another person and then fled the scene in a vehicle.
Officers located the suspect vehicle a short distance away and took the two male occupants into custody.
An imitation firearm was found inside the vehicle.
One suspect was released while Travis Dawson, 29, of Belleville faces several firearm related charges:
• Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
• Firearm Used in the Commission of an Offence
• Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
• Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
• Occupant of a Motor Vehicle Knowing There Was a Firearm
• Careless Use of a Firearm
The accused was held for a video Show Cause Hearing on August 14, 2022 and was remanded into custody to appear in court on August 15.
