Local cooling centres are open today to provide relief from the extreme heat.
Quinte West’s cooling centre at the Duncan McDonald Memorial Arena is open today through 5 p.m. as well as Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Splash pads are also open daily from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. in both Trenton and Frankford.
The City of Belleville says air-conditioned facilities such as the Quinte Sports & Wellness Centre, Belleville Public Library and Quinte Mall are also available to cool off in during their regular business hours.
The West Riverside, Selma Bochnek and Kinsmen splash pads are open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Splash pads are free of charge in both municipalities.
Belleville’s Kinsmen Pool is also open though pre-registration is required.
