A man has been taken to Belleville General Hospital following an incident on the Norris Whitney Bridge, commonly known as the Bay Bridge, just after 6 a.m. Wednesday morning.
Reports indicate an elderly man jumped from the bridge into the Bay of Quinte near Zwick’s Park.
Belleville police, firefighters with a rescue boat, and Hastings-Quinte paramedics responded.
Firefighters were said to have located a man in the water and transported him to Meyers Pier for transfer to hospital.
No other detail is available. Traffic is now moving normally over the bridge.
