Almost 600 small businesses in the Quinte region were helped by the Trenval Business Development Corporation in the past year.
Recently at Trenval’s 35th Annual General Meeting, the Board of Directors heard that the organization had provided almost $2 million in low-interest loans and over $121,000 in grants to businesses to help them get started or to expand.
That money impacted 168 jobs.
The Trenval Business Development Corporation is federally funded and serves Belleville, Quinte West, Deseronto, Tyendinaga Township, the Tyendinaga Mohawks, and Stirling-Rawdon.
Since 1987 Trenval has invested over $42.3 million via 944 loans. It is also the managing partner of the Small Business Centre on behalf of the City of Belleville.
