LOCAL CHARITIES RECEIVE SUPPORT FROM TRENTON ROTARY CLUB
TRENTON ON June 20, 2022: The Rotary Club of Trenton will be celebrating the previous year under the leadership of President Sandi Ramsay this coming week. One of the accomplishments of the club was to provide grants to local community groups. Unfortunately, due to Covid, the fundraising efforts were down, but at least four deserving organizations received funding to support their initiatives as follows:
- Quinte Sailability $700 -to help offset administrative fees for student programs
- Hospice Quinte $2500 – support for the new Hospice Centre
- Quinte West Fire – Coats for Kids $400 for youth in need of winter coating
- Trenton Memorial Hospital Foundation $3872 for a Vital Signs Monitor
The Trenton Rotary Club will open its application window for new projects again this year up until July 1, 2022. They can be found at trentonrotary.ca. Being a member brings opportunities for participation and fulfillment by engaging in a variety of events and fund-raising activities. The Rotary Club of Trenton work very closely within their community, contributing their efforts and experience so they can direct the funds they raise towards Rotary’s areas of focus which also includes selected projects in Canada and internationally. Dating back to 1922 the club continues to meet weekly on Mondays at 6:30pm. For more information, please contact Anthony Callaghan at admin@trentonrotary.ca.
Community Service projects are local initiatives, activities and events that the Trenton Rotarians engage in to enhance the lives of those around them and living in their community. Some other examples of Rotary in action include their support with sweat equity at the Trenton Memorial Hospital (Emergency gardens), with Quinte Conservation, Quinte Trash Bash, and more. Membership is a cross section of experienced business, not-for-profit and professional community members, plus an ever-increasing complement of active young men and women to nurture and sustain the club going forward. Rotarians believe in strong fellowship, principally through their weekly meetings, where they explore and discuss a broad range of interesting topics, as well as through committee participation that helps to foster deeper friendships, mutual respect and understanding.
The Rotary Club of Trenton is always looking for new members that want to be active in their local community, forge new friendships, and support initiatives that help make Trenton a better place to work and live.
