The 21st annual Walk to End ALS Quinte was a big success.
More than 100 people turned out Saturday in Belleville to take part. It was the first in-person walk in two years
because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
With money still coming in, organizer Evelyn Wilson, who’s been involved for all of its 21 years, says almost $32,000 was raised.
“It was a great day for a walk. We appreciate the support the community gives. Sixty per cent of the money goes toward local patients to help with support services and 40% is for research.”
Since the ALS Walk Quinte began more than $830,000 has been raised.
ALS is a debilitating nervous system disease leading to lack of muscle control.
