COVID-19 protests in the City of Quinte West have not caused any serious problems.
Quinte West OPP Detachment Commander Christina Reive told the Police Services Board Monday that the protest organizers and participants have been respectful.
“Essentially we allow everybody to voice their opinion as long they’re following the rules and ours have been communicating with us and doing as we ask them to do so that’s a good news story – that we aren’t getting into confrontations with people in our community which is what I want, that’s my goal.”
Meanwhile, several officers and at least one civilian from the Quinte West detachment have been involved in the operation to clear out trucks and protesters from the area surrounding the Parliament Precinct in Ottawa over the past several days.
