Belleville police responded to 139 calls for service from February 19, 2022 at 5 a.m. to February 22, 2022 at 5 a.m.
Impaired by DrugsBelleville, ON –
On February 18, 2022 at 4 p.m., Belleville police were notified of a vehicle in the downtown core with two occupants inside that were passed out. Police report that a pedestrian attempted to wake the occupants. The driver woke up and drove the vehicle a short distance down the street and came to a stop again. Police arrived shortly after, finding the driver to be impaired by drugs and also being a suspended driver. The vehicle was seized by police for seven days. The accused, 38-year-old Dana Parker of Belleville, was arrested and charged for Impaired operation and driving suspended. She was later released on her own recognizance. Shewill appear in court on March 3, 2022.
Take Motor Vehicle without Consent
On February 19, 2022 at 5:16 p.m., Belleville police attended a motor vehicle collision on Dundas Street East. Both vehicles suffered severe damage but all parties involved did not sustain any injuries or require medical attention. Further investigation revealed that one of the drivers involved in the collision had taken the motor vehicle without the consent of the vehicle owner. Police arrested the driver, 36-year-old Aaron Gray of Belleville. The accused was charged with the following offences:
- Take Motor Vehicle without Consent
- Drive No Licence
- Turn Not in Safety
- Drive Motor Vehicle No Permit
- Fail to Surrender Insurance Document
The accused was later released on his own recognizance and will appear in court on March 17, 2022.
Arrested on Warrants
On February 20, 2022 at 3:32 a.m., Belleville police were at a downtown business investigating an alarm when they came across a male subject known to them to have an outstanding warrant. Sixty-one-year-old Kerry Smith of Belleville was arrested on the warrant. He was later released on his own recognizance for mischief, uttering threats and two counts of causing bodily harm. Mr. Smith is scheduled to appear in court on March 17, 2022.
Unlawfully in a Dwelling
On February 20, 2022 at 4 p.m., Belleville police were dispatched to a residence in the south-central area in regards to a male suspect unlawfully being in the residence. Belleville resident, 38-year-old Adam Brownson was charged with being unlawfully in a dwelling house. He was released on his own recognizance and is scheduled to appear in court on March 17, 2022.
Impaired Driving
The Belleville Police Service were dispatched to a report of an impaired driver in the College and Cannifton area. Police located and stopped the suspect vehicle. The driver was arrested for impaired driving and provided samples of her breath which registered four times over the legal limit. The accused, 39-year-old Cassandra Mountenay of Quinte West was charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and her vehicle was seized. The accused is scheduled to attend court on March 17, 2022.
Arrested on Warrant
On February 17, 2022 at 3:50 p.m., Belleville police attended an address on Briarwood in regards to a female breaking into a residence. The 43-year-old female was suffering, and in, an emotional crisis. The female was apprehended and taken to Belleville General Hospital for assistance. On February 22, Belleville police arrested the female after she was released from the hospital. She was charged for the following offences:
- Domestic Mischief
- Mischief Under $5000
- Dangerous Operation of as Motor Vehicle
- Failing to Stop After an Accident
- Flight from Police
SHe was held for a show cause hearing scheduled for February 22, 2022.
