Quinte West firefighters briefly battled a garage fire in Quinte West Sunday morning.
Firefighters were called to 1427 County Road 28 in Wooler at approximately 10 a.m. for reports of a fire in an attached garage that had spread to the house.
When they arrived they immediately got to work trying to knock down the fire while calling in tanker support and at approximately 10:20 a.m. they were successful.
OPP and Hydro One were called to the scene and as of 10:20 a.m. Sunday a section of County Road 28 is shut down for an estimated two hours maximum.
There were no reported injuries as everyone in the home got out safe and according to Quinte West Fire Chief John Whelan the cause may have been due to wood stove embers that were disposed of in the garage.
An investigation continues.
