There was a huge increase in new COVID-19 infections reported for Hastings and Prince Edward counties today.
In a report that included the weekend, public health announced there were 146 new cases of COVID-19.
Eighty-four of the new cases were discovered in people who were fully vaccinated, 53 in those who were unvaccinated, and nine were partially vaccinated.
Factoring in recoveries from the illness there are now 361 active infections in Hastings-Prince Edward.
Sixty-four of the new cases were located in Belleville, 34 in Quinte West, 21 in Central Hastings, 14 in Prince Edward County, 10 in north Hastings, two in the Deseronto-Tyendinaga area, and one on Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory.
The number of COVID outbreaks has increased to 27 from 20 on Friday.
Seventy-eight percent of the population five years of age and older have received at least two vaccinations.
Northumberland County also saw a big jump in cases Monday with 35 new cases leaving 46 active infections there.
