Belleville police got into a short foot chase Thursday night in the southwest part of the city.
Police received a 911 call just before 9 o’clock and arrived on scene to find a man running away from the victim’s residence.
The 26-year-old suspect was quickly arrested and charged with two counts of assault, assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, failing to comply with an undertaking, and possession for the purpose of trafficking.
He was held in custody for a bail hearing.
There were no injuries.
