Housing will be front and centre at a meeting of Brighton council Tuesday.
Council will be asked to approve a zoning by-law amendment to allow a maximum of two additional residential units on one residential lot.
One would be inside the main residence and another in an accessory building on the property.
And council is expected to move closer to regulating the growing short term accommodations business in Brighton by discussing zoning amendments and a draft licensing by-law.
The main regulation will see a maximum of three bedrooms being allowed to be used for short term rentals, holding two persons apiece but there will also be stipulations regarding amenities, parking, and noise.
Meanwhile another big new housing development is expected to get closer to becoming a reality in the Municipality of Brighton Tuesday.
Tuesday Brighton council will be asked to approve a draft plan of a subdivision for development in the area of Ontario and Raglan streets to be known as Brighton Meadows.
If all conditions are met by the developers Brighton Meadows will feature 84 single family homes, 36 semi-detached homes and 36 townhouses. There would also be land available for another 16 residential units.
