It appears that the Quinte Sports and Wellness Centre will be temporarily down one ice surface in a few weeks time.
At its meeting Tuesday Belleville City Council will see a staff report saying the health unit is asking that the Family Dental Centre Arena be again made available as a vaccination site for around two weeks in the November/December period.
That’s when it’s expected that kids 5 to 11 years of age will be allowed to be vaccinated against COVID-19.
The health unit believes a large space such as the arena will be needed to meet the demand.
Ice rentals will be affected.
The arena had already been used as a vaccination clinic during a period of high demand.
