The provincial government is providing more financial support for Quinte Health Care’s four hospitals.
Local MPPs Todd Smith and Daryl Kramp recently announced just over $8.8 million to cover QHC’s working funds deficit.
Smith says the funding will put QHC on a solid financial footing after years of underfunding for small- and medium-sized hospitals, particularly those with multiple sites.
A working funds deficit occurs when an organization’s current liabilities exceed their current assets.
