The Quinte West OPP has charged two people following a complaint of a suspicious person.
On September 22, 2021, at approximately 7:30 p.m., Quinte West OPP responded to a complaint of a male walking down Old Highway 2 near Wallbridge Loyalist Road possibly carrying a firearm. With the assistance of the OPP and Belleville Police Service Emergency Response Teams and Belleville Police Canine Unit, two individuals were located squatting in a nearby abandoned residence, one of which matched the description provided by the complainant. The two people were arrested. No firearm was located.
Jason MCCULLOUGH, 31 years old of Quinte West has been charged with the following offences:
- Enter premise when entry prohibited;
- Obstruct peace officer;
- Personation with intent to avoid arrest, prosecution or obstruct justice;
- Failure to comply with undertaking; and
- Failure to comply with release order – other than to attend court – three counts
Shelby-Dawn STILWELL, 29 years old of Quinte West has been charged with the enter premise when entry prohibited and failure to comply with release order – other than to attend court – two counts.
Both accused were held in custody and are scheduled to appear for bail at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on September 23, 2021.
