A Belleville man is facing a variety of charges in connection to a theft in the city Friday.
Police responded to calls about a theft at a grocery store on North Front Street around 12:30 p.m.
According to police, the suspect fled before officers arrived but was quickly found nearby.
As a result, 38-year-old Justin Golden of Belleville was charged with:
- Theft under $5000
- Possession of stolen property
- Breach of probation
- Possession of methamphetamine
He is scheduled to appear in court on September 27.
