Users of the Millennium Trail in Prince Edward County might notice some unusual activity next week, as members of the Canadian Armed Forces conduct some training exercises.
Pathfinder trainees from CFB Trenton will be using the western 20 kilometres of the trail, on Monday, August 2, starting at the Murray Canal and heading east.
Personnel will be carrying rucksacks and unloaded rifles and will be escorted by two all-terrain vehicles.
While there’s not expected to be much noise made by the group, PEC Council has waived the municipal noise by-law for the purpose of the exercise and is also allowing the military to use the trail outside of its permitted hours of 7:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m.
