Quinte West council might take some action when it comes to the ongoing forest-destroying Gypsy Moth infestation at its meeting Monday night.
Council will vote on a staff recommendation to hire a private company to do field work this fall to determine where the Gypsy Moth problem is the worst and to predict where hot spots are likely next spring and summer.
Two tenders for the work have been presented and staff recommend that company BioForest do the documenting and map work for an upset cost of just over $34,000.
Also council will again be asked to confirm its position that the provincial government should be responsible for a spraying program on a regional basis.
