Both Belleville and Quinte West have opened their public cooling centres over the next two days to give people somewhere to beat the extreme heat.
The City of Belleville says the cooling centres at the Quinte Sports & Wellness Centre and Belleville Public Library are open today and tomorrow.
The cooling centre at the Quinte Sports & Wellness Centre will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The cooling centre at Belleville Public Library will be open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
There is also a cooling station at the Duncan McDonald Memorial Arena in Trenton open Monday and Tuesday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Masks and appropriate physical distancing will be required at all cooling centres.
Splash pads are also open daily from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. in Trenton and Frankford as well as Riverside, Parkdale and Kinsmen Parks in Belleville.
And Belleville’s Kinsmen Community Outdoor Pool is open by registration.
