Update: Bay of Quinte MPP Todd Smith has announced that projects in Belleville and Prince Edward County will also receive provincial funding through the Municipal Modernization Program.
In Belleville the money will go towards the geospatial strategy and roadmap project and in Prince Edward County the money will be for a service delivery review for municipal buildings and properties. The money going towards these two projects totals $447,975.

The Government of Ontario has announced $24 million in funding for a number of municipal projects including a handful in and around the Bay of Quinte.
Hastings, Lennox and Addington MPP Darryl Kramp announced Wednesday that projects in Bancroft, Tyendinaga Township, Marmora and Lake and Centre Hastings will receive funding through the Municipal Modernization Program.
In Bancroft there will be funding for the financial management and operational performance review implementation as well as the landfill, parks and roads service delivery review and the land and buildings service delivery review.
Tyendinaga Township will receive funding for asset and recreation process modernization.
Madoc is receiving funding for service delivery review of administrative processes.
Marmora and Lake is getting funding for a service delivery review.
Centre Hastings will see funding for website redevelopment and business processes digitalization.
There were no project-specific costs listed in the funding announcement.
The Municipal Modernization Program is a funding stream designed to grant money towards the modernization of small and rural municipalities in the province.
There are 254 projects receiving funding under the second intake. Under the first intake 180 modernization projects received a total of $11.8 million.
