Complaints about drivers speeding keep increasing in the City of Quinte West.
However, Quinte West OPP now have another Lidar speed detector and two more traffic trailers so speeds can be monitored at various locations in the city simultaneously.
Staff Sergeant Greg MacLellan told Quinte West’s Police Services Board Monday that police take the complaints seriously.
“We do contact those folks and we do put them on the list to get the trailers out, or the speed spies, to measure what’s going on and to see if we’re going to work those streets in one of our focused patrols or not.”
Meanwhile, Staff Sergeant MacLellan is retiring after a 36-year career with the Trenton Police Service and the OPP on July 31.
