The money is still being counted, but it looks like a great year for the annual ALS Walk.
Nationally $1.5 million has already been counted, with more to come.
The Quinte Chapter of ALS held a virtual walk Sunday and 40 people took part.
Walk organizer Evelyn Wilson tells Quinte News they have surpassed their original goal of $10,000 and pushed a new goal of $15,000.
Counted so far is just over $11,000 and they have until year’s end to meet their goal.
Wilson says they are pleased with the help from the teams and donors, especially considering the COVID environment.
She added that 40% of the funds will go to research, the other 60% for local support.
Quinte ALS stretched from North Hastings to The County, Brighton and Deseronto.
