Four people have been arrested as part of a drug bust in Quinte West.
OPP and various tactical units searched a home on Nichols Road early Thursday morning and found suspected cocaine, crystal meth, fentanyl, cash and a loaded handgun.
Police also seized other drug-related items.
Forty-four-year-old Debra Smid of Quinte West and 32-year-old Cassandra Phillips of Belleville are charged with various drug and weapons charges including:
- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine
- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – methamphetamine
- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – fentanyl
- Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000
- Careless storage of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition
- Possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm; and
- Unauthorized possession of a weapon
Both were released with conditions and a court date in May.
Police also charged 30-year-old Curtis Mansfield-Pederson and 39-year-old Clifford Johnston, both of Quinte West, with the following offences:
- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine
- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – methamphetamine
- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – fentanyl
- Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000
- Careless storage of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition
- Possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm; and
- Unauthorized possession of a weapon
Mansfield-Pederson was also charged with two counts of driving while prohibited and Johnston was handed an additional two counts of possession of a firearm or ammunition while prohibited.
They were both held for bail hearings on Thursday.
