HPE Public Health is reporting 13 new cases of COVID-19, along with 23 recoveries today, leaving the total number of active cases in the area at 150.
Five of the new cases were found in Belleville, four in Deseronto, two in North Hastings and one each in Prince Edward County and Quinte West.
Seven of the cases have been linked to close contact, with two tied to local spread and four transmission causes pending.
Two more variants of concern have been identified as well.
Thirteen patients are now being treated in hospital, with four in the ICU and one on a ventilator.
The health unit is also reporting that an outbreak at a congregate living facility in Belleville, announced on Tuesday, has been tied to two of the currently active cases.
There were no changes to the local vaccination numbers reported today, with 43,318 doses administered and 3,224 people fully vaccinated.
The HKPR Health Unit is reporting 21 new cases in Northumberland County today, with 54 recoveries, for a total of 99 active cases. Northumberland County haven’t been updated.
