HPE Public Health is reporting another 27 new cases of COVID-19 in the area today, with 11 recoveries.
Twelve of the new cases were found in Belleville, five in Quinte West, three each in Deseronto and Prince Edward County, and one each in Centre Hastings and North Hastings.
The transmission causes for 18 of the new cases are pending, with six tied to close contact and one each to an outbreak, travel and local spread.
Three people are in hospital, one less from yesterday’s report, but one person is still in the ICU.
There is also a new outbreak being reported from Tri-Board school bus #499, with two cases connected there.
The seven day case rate per 100,00 people is at 86.1, which would put the area well into the red zone of Ontario’s COVID-19 response framework, if current further restrictions weren’t already in place.
The health unit has also issued 36,677 vaccine doses across the region, with 3,183 people considered to be fully vaccinated.
