The provincial government is expanding its COVID vaccination appointment booking system to accommodate people 70 years of age and older in much of the Quinte region as of Good Friday.
That age group can now book online or by phone call in Hastings-Prince Edward and Haliburton Kawartha Pine Ridge health unit regions.
People aged 70 and older in Kingston Frontenac and Lennox and Addington had previously been permitted to book appointments.
Access information for online vaccination appointments is here.
Or people can call the Provincial Vaccine Information Line number at 1-888-999-6488.
The line is open 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. seven days a week.
Meanwhile, AstraZeneca vaccines are going to be doled out at 380 additional pharmacies across Ontario, including several in the Quinte region.
Vaccinations will only be given to people 55 years of age and older.
Pharma Plus on Main Street in Picton, Kelly’s Drug Store on Bridge East in Belleville, Shoppers on Hastings Street in Bancroft, and RX Drug Mart on Grand Road in Campbellford will all have the vaccine as early as this weekend.
