Joint Forces Child Pornography Investigations
Belleville Police Service Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) officers and OPP Child Sexual Exploitation Unit officers have been working together on a number of investigations that culminated in three search warrants being executed with two arrests on March 31, 2021. None of the investigations is related to each other.
In the early morning hours of March 31, 2021 officers executed a search warrant at a west end Belleville location. As a result of this investigation a 27-year-old Belleville man faces charges of:
-Possession of Child Pornography – 3 counts
-Making child Pornography available – 2 counts
-Possession of a controlled substances- (methamphetamine)
The accused was held for a show cause hearing on April 1, 2021. A publication ban is in place.
A second search warrant was executed at the same time at a north end Belleville address. As a result of this investigation a 52-year-old Belleville man has been charged with luring a child by telecommunications for a sexual purpose. The male was held for a show cause hearing on April 1, 2021. The male’s name will not be released to protect the identity of the victim.
Later in the day a third search warrant was executed at a Bayside residence into an investigation of possession of child pornography. An arrest has yet to be made in this investigation but charges are expected in the near future.
