Quinte West OPP has laid charges against a Quinte West resident following a disturbance call.
On February 27, 2021, at approximately 9:00 p.m., Quinte West OPP were dispatched to a residence on County Road 40 in Quinte West after receiving a complaint of a disturbance in progress.
Police attended and located a suspected intoxicated male inside the residence.
Investigation showed that one person was allegedly assaulted, property was damaged and that the male had allegedly operated a motor vehicle prior to attending the residence.
The accused was arrested and transported to the Quinte West Detachment for testing where blood alcohol limits were determined to be in excess of the legal limit.
A 39-year old male of Quinte West was charged with the following offences:
- Assault
- Mischief
- Operation while impaired
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville in March, 2021.
Further, his licence was suspended for 90 days, and his vehicle was impounded for seven days.
The name of the accused has been withheld to protect the identity of the victim.
