Much needed technology upgrades for municipal staff and the general public are coming in the Township of Stirling-Rawdon.
At Monday’s meeting council approved taking out a 3 year contract at $ 735.00 a month for fibre-optic internet service which will greatly increase download and upload speeds.
Stirling-Rawdon has been paying $65.00 a month for for high speed internet that couldn’t handle large files such as council and committee meetings properly.
And, to solve ongoing audio problems in council’s meeting room council approved a one-time expenditure of close to $4,500.00 to make meetings easier for the online public to hear.
The money to pay for the upgrades will come from COVID 19 and modernization funding provided to municipalities.
