Belleville’s Planning Advisory Committee is recommending city council approve rezoning which would allow another phase of the big Potter’s Creek subdivision in the city’s west end to proceed.
If finally approved, what’s known as Potter’s Creek phase 9-A, would feature 261 residential units including 82 houses, 14 townhouses and a low-rise apartment complex with 165 units.
Recently residents in the neighbourhood expressed concerns about the location of the apartment buildings and traffic flow.
Mayor Mitch Panciuk said the developer made changes after listening to the residents and people are happy.
“This is a demonstration of what happens when we work together through this process, developers, city staff, but also residents.”
In future phases the developer has promised to link the existing Sienna Avenue with Avonlough road to the west to improve traffic flow in the area.
