The Office of the Fire Marshal has been called in to investigate the cause of a house fire in rural Brighton.
Northumberland OPP remain on the scene of the blaze that destroyed the two-storey brick home on Old Wooler Road between Lord Road and Grosjean Road.
Brighton firefighters responded to a house fully engulfed in flames at 3:30 this morning.
Cramahe Township Fire Department and the Trent Hills Fire Department provided support.
It’s believed the house was only occupied in warmer months but that has not been confirmed yet.
One firefighter was taken to Trenton Memorial Hospital for treatment of exertion.
