On Monday January 25, 2021, at approximately 10:00 p.m., members of the Northumberland Detachment of the OPP, along with emergency personnel, responded to a report of a single vehicle collision on Old Wooler Road just west of Dalmas Road.
A blue Nissan SUV failed to negotiate a curve while travelling on Old Wooler Road, it went into a ditch and collided with a hydro pole before coming to a stop on a resident’s front yard.
The driver and only occupant of the vehicle was found to be under the influence of alcohol.
The driver was transported to a local area hospital as a precautionary measure then released.
As a result of the investigation, Hailey Brown (age 27) of Brighton, Ontario, was arrested and charged with:
- Operation while impaired – alcohol
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg on March 3, 2021.
