The planning is well underway and by sometime in March it’s hoped all front line staff and physicians working at Quinte Health Care will receive COVID-19 vaccinations.
QHC Vice President Jeff Hohenkerk says vaccination clinics will be ready and all that will be needed are the vaccines.
The design for vaccination clinics could be extended to allow for up to 2,400 vaccinations per day and Hohenkerk says if called upon the hospital will be ready to help elsewhere.
“We’re also working with our counterparts at public health, our Picton Family Health Team as well as our Bancroft Family Health Team to vaccinate our general public in terms of what our community mass vaccination centre would look like.”
QHC is now providing deep freeze storage for the Pfizer vaccine coming to the area in freezers located in Belleville and in Bancroft.
