The American Hockey League released the schedule for its shortened season today but the Belleville Senators and their Canadian counterparts weren’t included.
The B-Sens and Toronto Marlies are still awaiting provincial approval to play this season, so the league decided to hold off on releasing a schedule for the North Division, which also includes the Manitoba Moose and Laval Rocket.
There was no word from the league on exactly when the Canadian teams might be able to start play, but sources tell Quinte News that it likely won’t be before Ontario’s lockdown rules are lifted.
It also still has to be decided if the B-Sens will play in Belleville at CAA Arena, or at Canadian Tire Centre in Ottawa, where many of the COVID-19 related protocols are already in place for the NHL team.
The B-Sens currently have 14 skaters and two goalies in their mini-camp in Ottawa and will expand into a full training camp once they get the green light to play.
