The Quinte region may have periods with milder temperatures this winter.
Staff meteorologist Kevin Williams says the Quinte region will be affected by a La Nina winter.
“They tend to not feature prolonged cold and sometimes long stretches of milder weather, but can produce the occasional blockbuster storm such as the northeastern United States saw recently and that will be a possibility going forward as well.”
He says greater percentages of snow this year will come from lake effect or clippers out of the prairies, versus east coast storms.
