OPP INVESTIGATE DOMESTIC INCIDENT
On December 19, 2020 shortly before 1:00 p.m. officers from the Bancroft Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received the report of a domestic incident in the Town of Bancroft. As a result of the investigation one adult was arrested.
A 37-year-old of Bancroft, Ontario has been charged with criminal offences of assault (2 counts) and assault with a weapon.
The accused was released from custody to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Bancroft, Ontario on January 19, 2021 in relation to the criminal charges.
OPP INVESTIGATE BREAK AND ENTER ON OLD HASTINGS ROAD
On December 19, 2020 officers from the Bancroft Detachment of the OPP investigated the report of a break and enter on Old Hastings Road in the Town of Bancroft. Investigation revealed that sometime between December 1 and December 19, a structure on the property was forcibly entered.
Property reported stolen includes an ATV, utility trailer and generator.
Any person with information regarding the person(s) responsible for this break, enter and theft should immediately contact the Ontario Provincial Police at 1-888-310-1122.

OPP RESPOND TO UNWANTED PERSON IN TOWN OF BANCROFT
On December 19, 2020 shortly before 3:00 a.m., officers from the Bancroft Detachment of the OPP responded to the report of an unwanted person at a property on Flint Avenue in the Town of Bancroft. Investigation revealed that an adult had been physically assaulted and property was damaged. Officers arrested one adult at the location.
Liam Mackay-Reddy, 23 years old has been charged with the criminal offences of:
- Assault
- Mischief Under $5000
- Causing a Disturbance
- Fail to Comply with Probation
- Fail to Comply with a Release Order (2 counts)
The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville, Ontario on December 21, 2020 in relation to the criminal charges.
OPP INVESTIGATE DISTURBANCE IN HASTINGS HIGHLANDS
On December 19, 2020 shortly after 11:30 p.m., officers from the Bancroft Detachment of the OPPresponded to a disturbance at a residence on Highway 62 in the Municipality of Hastings Highlands. Officers attended the residence and arrested one adult.
Andrew Smith, 30 years old of Belleville, Ontario has been charged with the criminal offences of:
- Fail to Comply with Release Order (3 counts)
- Resist Peace Officer
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Bancroft, Ontario on January 12, 2021 in relation to the criminal charges.
OPP RESPOND TO A THEFT COMPLAINT IN BANCROFT
On December 15, 2020 officers from the Bancroft Detachment of the OPP responded to the report of a theft from a business on Hastings Street North in the Town of Bancroft. As a result of the investigation one adult has been arrested and charged.
Liam Mackay-Reddy, 23 years of age has been charged with the criminal offence of theft under $5000.
The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville, Ontario on January 21, 2020 in relation to the criminal charge.
