The Bay of Quinte Regional Marketing Board has distributed $55,000 to 25 small businesses.
Earlier this year, the Bay of Quinte Regional Marketing Board launched applications for the first ever Bay of Quinte Marketing Grant to support small businesses in the tourism sector.
Funding was allocated according to five categories: social/digital, outside market radio, print/signage, experiential tourism and photography/video.
There were just under 70 applications totalling almost $160,000 in funding requests, significantly higher than the $30,000 budgeted.
Bay of Quinte RMB’s Board of Directors approved increasing the overall budget to a total of $55,000, supplemented by funds from the Municipal Accommodation Tax collected in the cities of Belleville and Quinte West.
There were 25 successful projects including: Regional Cycling Map (The Brake Room), Forest Therapy Walks (Quinte Conservation), Shop Quinte West Get In The Loop winter campaign (a collaboration of Quinte West retail partners), Expedia Travel Ads Pay-Per-Click Program (Hampton Inn & Suites), and self-guided history tours (Brighton-Cramahe Chamber of Commerce).
