Belleville Transit is making some changes to its fare payment system as it gets set to begin collecting ridership fees again on October 1st.
Monthly passes will now be available at a single price of $65 per month, which the city says will make it easier for them to be sold by outside vendors like Shoppers Drug Mart, Giant Tiger and convenience stores.
Riders will also be able to purchase single ride and monthly passes via the Belleville Transit App, which is available on the Apple App Store or Google Play.
Manager of Transit Services Paul Buck says the changes “will allow for a smoother process and improved overall experience for users”.
Fare have not been collected the past few months because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
