A Quinte West Councillor is asking for staff to bring a report on a possible restructuring of council.
Councillor Leslie Roseblade made the request on Monday night noting that the topic seemed to come up quite a bit during the last municipal election from Chamber of Commerce Members and other residents, with the ward boundaries splitting some neighbourhoods in the city.
“The urban area is definitely growing so it’s making some issues where some subdivisions are cut completely in half, whether in Trenton Ward or Murray Ward where they’re voting, but they’re next door neighbours. So I would like to ask that staff could start that process and bring back to council some suggestions.”
Mayor Jim Harrison says Roseblade’s request would be added as a motion for the next meeting of council and if passed, staff would start working on the report at that time.
