The Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Foundation’s Back the Build initiative just gained another benefactor.
The Wellington Rotary Club is committing $400,000 to Back the Build for the new hospital. The announcement was made Friday and the first instalment of $100,000 was officially donated.
The waiting area in the emergency department of the new hospital will be named in recognition of the rotary club’s contribution.
According to the rotary club’s president and lead fundraising volunteer, David Smith, the Wellington Rotary Club members have been fundraising for three years and are within $130,000 of their $400,000 goal.
