Belleville Police Service responded to 53 calls for service from August 24, 2020 at 5 a.m. to the August 25, 2020 at 5 a.m.
Liquor Licence Act
On August 24, 2020 at approximately 8:45 p.m., officers attended a west end address regarding a female fighting with a male. Upon arrival, officers quickly determined that the female was heavily intoxicated due to the consumption of alcohol. A 36-year-old Belleville woman was arrested for her own safety and later released on a Part 1 offence notice, for being intoxicated in a public place.
Arrest
On August 24, 2020, police received information regarding suspicious behaviour in the city’s west end. Responding officers located a male believed to be involved. The investigating officers determined that the suspect male was currently on conditions, and that he was breaching a court order. As a result, 37-year-old Brent Gerard of Toronto was arrested for breaching a court order, he was later released with a court date in September.
Collisions
On August 24, 2020, the Belleville Police Service investigated two separate motor vehicle collisions on North Front St. Both did not involve injuries. If anyone witnessed these collisions they are urged to contact the Belleville Police Service.
